15 08 09 - 23:25 Alright, I've had enough here, I'm just going to order another LCD and fix this one when i have the new one and know what to expect...Generally stuff doesn't ever work again once it has emitted smoke, so I'll just put this one down to experience.
I had another look at the datasheet. Look at the block diagram, note how the arrow on Vee is pointed into the chip... hope others don't make the same mistake.
Oh well, guess I did this so you don't have to :)
