No, I'm not dead.

Sunday 05 August 2007 at 9:40 pm Sorry about the lack of updates for a long while. No, I'm not dead...

Anyway, I've been quite busy over the last while. First of all, the news.

I'll take the time to explain what's going on with KisMac.

First of all: the project is not dead. Mick Roberg has announced his and binaervarianz's discontinuation of the project. This is because he is currently in Germany and will be affected by the new German law. I don't blame him for doing this - I wouldn't want 4 years in jail for writing a wireless stumbler.

So after the project is StGB 202c compliant (or at least somewhere where it can't be enforced), the world is now safe from evil terrorist hackers who will destroy the world. Wait, is it? There are other developers that are not located inside Germany that will continue to develop this tool. And we have other hosts outside Germany hosting the code, where it is entirely legal to develop and possess such code.

Grab a copy of the sources from the SVN repository http://kismac-ng.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ (hosted in the US) or svn://shoxed.com/svn/kismac/trunk (hosted in the Netherlands). Or a prebuilt binary from http://tehbin.com/Bin/KisMAC/ (also hosted in the US).

And if you know anyone who knows how to code Cocoa, and is at the very least interested in the project, persuade them to help us, please! We need more developers!
